Hit The Ground Running

A personal message received from one of our existing clients thanking Core Emirates for handing over another fast track Data Centre defect free, was admittedly, an excellent way to kick start 2021. Building on this momentum we have secured developer appointments for a Healthcare Facility, a hotel complex in Fujairah, and have been engaged to conduct a detailed technical audit for EXPO Mall. Further afield we have been appointed for a large scale project in Bahrain, further cementing long term relationships across the GCC. Our Managing Partner, Lee Hewitt continues to dedicate his personal time as the Chairman of the CSA, having set his sights on the years targets with the continued support from the rest of the committee, with “Raising Awareness” and rolling out focused Commissioning Specifications, high on the agenda.

Covid 19

How ready are your business premises for the return to work after Covid-19?

Having all faced Coronavirus together, we can help with the return to work and ensure your staff feel safe in their work environment, so they can concentrate on getting back to doing the best job. Business owners and property managers will inevitably be concerned not only about the health of their staff but also their buildings after a period where they have been left inactive and under capacity during lockdown. Core Emirates has a wealth of experience in undertaking risk assessments and validation of building performance and compliance and with our support, you can be certain that you are reopening safely and confident that every member of your team and clients will be protected while on your premises. The World Health Organisation has emphasised the importance of having effective ventilation in a building where airborne transmission is a known risk and Core Emirates can undertake risk-based surveys of your existing systems and adjust and balance them to meet the requirements. In addition to air systems the integrity of water systems is also critical, and management of risks associated with Legionella pneumophilia bacteria are a legal responsibility. We can initiate water management programs to undertake regular testing of water systems, including test and control of the temperature of water supplies. Legionella growth is known to be a risk where water temperatures are outside of the range 20°C to 60°C and Core Emirates can undertake detailed testing of water temperatures and water quality sampling including re-chlorination as required. We will make sure your building services systems are performing in accordance with industry guidelines, allowing you to focus on managing the return of your key staff back into the workplace. We can carry out: Ventilation surveys Re-commissioning to ensure the appropriate fresh air supplies Air systems filter checks Air quality checks / ductwork cleanliness checks Water hygiene risk assessments Legionella testing Re-chlorination of domestic water systems Energy optimisation surveys To see how Core Emirates can help you get back to business, please contact us on info@core-emirates.com or +971 (0) 4 258 1489

Covid 19 – The Dos and Don’ts

DO wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, several times a day. Use soap and water or a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol: • Before cooking or eating • After using the bathroom • After blowing your nose, coughing , or sneezing. DO learn the symptoms, which are similar to • Flu • Fever • Cough • Shortness of breath Most cases do not start with a runny nose. DO consider taking extra precautions and staying out of public places if you’re over 60 years old, or have a condition, as you have a higher risk of developing the disease. Note that as of now, the highest-risk groups appear to be seniors and people with preexi sting conditions like heart disease, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes. DO reconsider travel to affected countries, especially if you have underlying conditions. For people in a higher-risk group — seniors and people with preexisting conditions — the agency suggests postponing nonessential travel. It also suggests everyone avoid cruises. Find the latest advisories here. DO get ready to hunker down. The World Health Organization has now declared COVID-19 to be a pandemic. If someone in your home gets sick, local authorities may want you to be quarantined for up to 14 days. DO practice “social distancing”: Avoid large gatherings and crowds in poorly-ventilated spaces, and try to stay at three to six feet away from anyone who’s coughing or sneezing. DO prioritize your health. Now is not the time to burn the candle at both ends, skip workouts, or ignore a healthy diet—that can weaken your immune system. DO check in on high-risk neighbors: older adults and people with serious chronic medical conditions. Monitor their food and medical supplies, and make sure they have people or organizations who can help if they get sick. DON’T touch your eyes, nose, and mouth. If you have somehow come into contact with the virus, touching your face can help it enter your body. DON’T travel if you have a fever. If you get sick on flight, tell crew immediately. When you get home, contact a health professional. DON’T panic. At this point, public health officials still say the risk of becoming infected with COVID-19 is low. Taking proper precautions — wash your hands! — and making preparations are the best things you can do. DON’T skip the flu shot. The symptoms of COVID-19 and flu overlap enough that it can complicate diagnosis. If you’ve had a flu shot, you’re less likely to catch the flu or have a case serious enough to require treatment.
